R.I.P, Shirley Knight

Her biggest film performance is in Coppola’s “The Rain People,” but I will always remember her as the sweet, slightly dull Polly in “The Group.” She won a Tony award in 1976 for “Kennedy’s Children,” beating out Meryl Streep, who has never won a Tony by the way. Shirley was also in plenty of Tennessee Williams.
