TV/Streaming: Now that country music is over on PBS it’s time for new episodes of “Poldark”…I’ve started “hate-watching” “Succession” and I love hating it. Music: All that country music on PBS has sent Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings to the top of the charts. Books: Pico Iyer’s “A Beginner’s Guide to Japan” is a quick, insightful read about a fascinating culture and country. Sports: The final regular-season weekend for baseball: will Pete Alonso reach the rookie record of 53 home runs? Finally: Great weather in the Northeast lately — does that portend a bitter winter?
