Your Weekend: A Selective Guide
Movies: I won’t see “It: Chapter Two” because I didn’t see “It.” But I will see the new documentary about Linda Ronstadt. TV/Streaming: One of my greatest weekly pleasures now is hate-watching “Succession” on HBO. All those awful rich people who aren’t lively or juicy in the least. Music: Best sellers on Amazon: Taylor Swift, Sheryl Crow, Lana Del Rey: let’s hear it for the women! Books: “The Nickel Boys,” the new novel from Colson Whitehead, is beautifully written and extremely touching. Sports: Another season from the NFL doesn’t have me excited. Football that does excite me: Last week, Arsenal came back from a 2-0 deficit against Tottenham to end with a 2-2 draw — and I’ve been happy about it all week. Finally: It only took a month, but now the entire U.S. is back to school.
