Yay! Kendrick, “Star” Grab Grammy Noms

Kendrick Lamar leads the nominations for the 61st annual Grammy Awards, unveiled Friday morning. He earned a total of seven nominations, including album of the year for the Black Panther soundtrack. That album’s song “All the Stars,” written by Lamar and SZA, also is up for record of the year, song of the year, best rap/sung performance and best song written for visual media. Lamar also

is nominated for “King’s Dead,” for best rap performance and best rap song, alongside Jay Rock, Future and James Blake. Whlle the A Star Is Born soundtrack as a whole wasn’t eligible for any nominations, the song “Shallow,” by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper was — it earned a total of four nominations, including record of the year, song of the year, best pop duo/group performance and best song written for visual media. Gaga earned an additional nom, for best pop solo performance, for “Joanne (Where Do You Think You’re Goin’?).”
