…”Beauty and the Beast.” You were expecting Sondheim’s “Passion“? In fact, one of Mr. S.’s works — “Into the Woods” — has been in the top five for many a moon. Among the most-produced plays, the only surprise to me was “Arsenic and Old Lace.” That was considered a chestnut no longer fit for roasting way back when I was a lad. The lists are here.
