“Fosse/Verdon” To Become TV Series
The cable network FX has greenlighted “Fosse/Verdon,” an eight-episode project from Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda starring Oscar winner Sam Rockwell and four-time Academy Award nominee Michelle Williams. Based on Sam Wasson’s Fosse biography, the project tells the story of the romantic and creative partnership between Bob Fosse (Rockwell) and Gwen Verdon (Williams). He was a filmmaker and one of theater’s most influential choreographers and directors; she was one of the greatest Broadway dancers of all time. Will we only hit the heights (“Pajama Game,” “Redhead,” “Sweet Charity,” “Chicago”) or will we also get the depths (“Big Deal”)?
