Kennedy Center Honors: A Joke!
It was inevitable that they get around to hip-hop, so I can’t complain about LL Cool J on this year’s list. But when I look at this year’s list and think of all the truly great artists who haven’t been honored: Woody Allen, Jane Fonda, Spike Lee, Joni Mitchell. And don’t tell me it’s a matter of who would show up for Trump. My aforementioned quartet weren’t named under Clinton or Obama, either. Oh, and why this year are there three pop-music artists out of five honorees? No balance.
