Spielberg Movie In Wake Of Comey Firing
Steven Spielberg‘s upcoming movie about the Washington Post looks more and more timely after yesterday’s Comey firing brought comparisons to the Watergate era. But don’t forget that the movie, while it stars Meryl Streep as Wash Post publisher Kay Graham and Tom Hanks as the paper’s editor, Ben Bradlee, is not about Watergate. It’s about the earlier Pentagon Papers saga — the paper’s role in exposing the secret Department of Defense study of U.S. political and military involvement in Vietnam and how Bradlee and Graham challenged the federal government over the right to publish the leaked documents in 1971.
