“Harry Potter” Sweeps Olivier Awards
“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” swept the Olivier awards last night in London, winning nine. “Groundhog Day” won best musical and its star, Andy Karl, won best actor/musical. Karl has a chance for a Tony award this year, though I suspect best musical will go to “Dear Evan Hansen” not “Groundhog Day.” As for “Harry Potter,” I’ve seen it and found it great fun. I expect it to sweep next year’s Tonys.
