Notorious B.I.G.: Key Albums Reviewed
On March 9, 1997, iconic rapper Christopher Wallace (The Notorious B.I.G., aka Biggie Smalls) was murdered in Los Angeles, a crime that remains unsolved. Tomorrow, Pitchfork will commemorate the 20th anniversary of his death by reviewing four key albums in his catalog. His 1994 debut, Ready to Die, will be reviewed by Pitchfork contributor Matthew Trammell. Life After Death, released just a few weeks
after his passing in March 1997, will be reviewed by contributor kris ex. Puff Daddy & The Family’s No Way Out, which came out later that year and features many contributions from Biggie, will be reviewed by Pitchfork Associate Staff Writer Sheldon Pearce. And Pitchfork Contributing Editor Jayson Greene will review the posthumous 1999 release Born Again. Join us as we explore the life and music of one of rap’s greatest.
