“Sweeney Todd” Pies? No Thanks!
Unlike the creepy stuff inside Mrs. Lovett’s crusts, the pies in a new off-Broadway production of the Sondheim classic, at the Barrow Street Theatre, where performances begin Feb. 14, will contain good, old-fashioned beef and vegetables. And they will be served to the audience — those who pay for them, that is. But you can’t convince me that these delicacies won’t contain priest or clerk or poet. News got you in the dumps?
