Cakes, Tea, And Nudity With Mae West
In 1973, DJ Tony Prince and a journalist visited Mae West at her Hollywood home. (It was in a building she owned — she made a bundle buying L.A. real estate.) Prince writes: “When, finally, we stood up, the reporter turned and looked at a nude portrait of the star over the mantle and said: “Miss West, what a beautiful painting.†“Yeah,†she drawled looking at her younger self, ‘He caught me when I wasn’t looking.’â€
