Who Will Win The Man Booker Tonight?
The bookies in Britain are saying it will go to Madeleine Thien‘s “Do Not Say We Have Nothing” and many critics are decrying the exclusion of JM Coetzee’s “The Schooldays of Jesus” (which isn’t about Jesus). I found “Jesus” beautiful but of the five finalists the only one I’ve read is Paul Beatty’s “The Sellout.” Beatty says his motivation for writing the novel was that “I was broke.” Honesty!
