Tom Cruise is about to return in a new “Jack Reacher” movie. Here’s an historical tidbit relating to the new movie’s love of conspiracy theories: ‘In the early 1950s, the CIA began an illegal program to test various drugs in the hope of discovering substances that could give them control over the minds of people under interrogation. That’s right: mind control. The psychedelic drug LSD was of particular interest to the Agency, who administered it to unwitting prostitutes, prisoners, and other marginalized test subjects to study its effects on the mind. MKUltra only came to light in the 1970s, when a story by the New York Times led to a Congressional investigation and public exposure of the program.’
