Bowie’s Final Studio Recordings: October
David Bowie’s final studio recordings will be released in October on the new cast album for the “Lazarus” musical. Before Bowie’s death in January, he recorded versions of “No Plan,†“Killing a Little Time,†and “When I Met You†with the Blackstar band, and until now fans had only heard the show’s cast sing them. But on Oct. 21, Bowie’s versions, produced by Bowie and his longtime collaborator, Tony Visconti, will appear on the second disc of the collection. “Lazarus” made its theatrical debut last year in New York and is gearing up to premiere in London on Oct. 25 with its original star, Michael C. Hall. Based on the 1963 novel “The Man Who Fell to Earth” — also the basis for the Bowie-starring 1976 movie by the same name — Lazarus follows the story of an alien who crash lands on earth.
