“The Night Of”: The Finale
[spoiler alert] It wasn’t tied up with bows, even though we have a better idea of who killed Andrea. Naz got off, but he’s been corrupted by his jailtime: nasty tattoos, a freebasing habit. The series wasn’t quite the sizzling indictment of the criminal-justice system that the British version was, but it still scored plenty of points. I’m not a fan of John Turturro, but he stepped up for this episode, even though his skin problem was almost as irritating to watch as it would be to have. Jeannie Berlin, as the prosecutor, and Riz Ahmed, as Naz, were terrific. And give an Emmy to the cat. For a more complete breakdown of the finale, click here.
