“Gypsy”: Why Not Use Her Own Money?
Barbra Streisand keeps talking about the “Gypsy” movie as her passion project, including in a new interview with Ben Brantley of the New York Times. So why doesn’t she finance it with some of her own money? The clock keeps ticking on the project with the announcement today that SFX Entertainment is backing out of the financing. Earlier in the year, Universal studios, where “Gypsy” had been in development for several years, put it in turnaround. Barbra will be 80 by the time this thing hits the screen.
