Artist To Create Corner Store In Felt
The Guardian says: ‘Lucy Sparrow, the artist who built a corner shop in London’s East End filled entirely with 4,000 hand-sewn groceries, is to open her first installation in New York. Sparrow’s first American show will once again see her open a corner shop where people can walk in with a shopping basket and buy anything from packets of biscuits to chewing gum – but all hand-crafted from felt. The shop, to be called “Eight Till Late,” will be open next summer. Sparrow said the project would be double the size of her London cornershop and she hopes to fill it with more than 8,000 items, all hand-sewn.’
