Gregory Rabassa, “100 Years” Translator, Dies

Like millions of people, I was introduced to Garcia Marquez’s “One Hundred Years of Solitude” through the English translation of Gregory Rabassa. So it was sad to learn that Rabassa has died. But he lived a long life (he was 94) and compiled a tremendous list of credits as a translator. Later today, I plan to re-read a little of his versions of Garcia Marquez.
