Why Cher May Ultimately Star In “Mame”
I have two wishes before I die: to see a woman President and to see Cher in a revival of “Mame.” The former is a possibility while the latter seems a pipe dream. However, as this chart shows, Cher will still be opening new windows in 30 years so there’s still time. In other “Mame” news, there will be a 50th reunion today at Sardi’s in New York of the original cast members of the Broadway “Mame.” Angela Lansbury will be there with bells on. But alas no Bea Arthur, who was Vera.
