Your Weekend: A Selective Guide
Movies: “Batman v. Superman” is big and noisy and not much fun. “Born to be Blue” gives us Ethan Hawke as jazz great Chet Baker. Television: Friday on PBS brings “Time for Three in Concert,” featuring the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Sunday’s episode of “Vinyl” is titled “The King and I.” Music: I’ve never heard of Jordan Smith, but his “Something Beautiful” is selling big-time. What? You’ve never heard Judy Garland and Lena Horne sing this medley? Books: Carlo Rovelli’s “Seven Brief Lessons on Physics” is this year’s science book that everybody buys but not everybody reads. Sports: The Knicks have been even worse (if that’s possible) since they changed coaches. Finally: Here’s hoping it doesn’t rain on your Easter Parade. If it does, tie your bonnet extra-tight.
