Do You Remember Mrs. Miller?
Signature Theatre in Virginia has announced its forthcoming season and one item that caught my eye is a new musical called “Mrs. Miller Does Her Thing,” starring the estimable Debra Monk. Mrs. Miller was a 1960s pop phenomenon. She couldn’t sing, but, like Florence Foster Jenkins of the previous generation, didn’t seem to care. Million-dollar question: how do you make a musical about someone whose singing voice was wretched?
