Hamilton Attends “The King And I”
I ran into Lin-Manuel Miranda yesterday in the lobby of Lincoln Center Theater’s Vivian Beaumont. He was wearing a hat and dark glasses — maybe he’s always does this but I suspect that since he’s become truly famous in the past year that the need for protection in public has grown. In case you’ve been living under a boulder, Miranda is the creator of and star in “Hamilton,” which is not only a huge Broadway hit but a hugely popular recording as well. I congratulated Miranda on all his success. He was sweet and gracious and told me he couldn’t wait to see “The King and I.” After the performance, he tweeted his love and shared pics of himself and his lovely wife, Vanessa, with the production’s current stars, Kelli O’Hara and Ken Watanabe. He also took a pic with the royal children, who are, I can assure you, obsessed with the “Hamilton” recording.
