Character Actor George Gaynes Has Died
The show-biz obits tout Gaynes for his work in “Punky Brewster” and “Police Academy,” but I will always remember him playing the letch in “Tootsie.” He stands outside the window of Dorothy Michaels (Dustin Hoffman) and sings “I’ll Know (When My Love Comes Along),” from “Guys and Dolls.” Hilarious.
