The Moroccans By Leila Alaoui
When I walk down the street in New York, I’m often struck by the sameness of how people dress: same dark-blue or black parka (most of them by Canada Goose these days), same jeans. Not the case in Morocco, or at least not in the Morocco seen by Leila Alaoui, a French-Moroccan photographer and video artist who was killed earlier this month while on assignment in Burkina Faso. The photo I have chosen is from her series The Moroccans.
