Sunday Night TV Recap
The Good Wife: This show is on such a downslide — unsexy romances, Eli’s character going nowhere, no Christine Baranski — that I finally did something I rarely do: I stopped watching halfway through the episode. Grade: F. Downton Abbey (pictured): The housekeeper and the butler finally tied the knot, and it was lovely. Oddly, Mr. Carson looked less formal at his own wedding than in his work uniform. Grade: A-. Mercy Street: I gave a try to this new PBS medical series set during the Civil War. Splendid production values, good actors, but I just…didn’t….care. Grade: B-. Billions: I would watch more of another new series — this one pits finance types played by Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti — if I had Showtime. Watch the premiere for free here. Grade: B+.
