Sibelius Is Number 3? God Help Us!
I know it’s irrational, but I loathe the music of Sibelius. If you want to hasten my death, play “Finlandia” for me. To make my aversion more acute, I learn that last year Sibelius’s “Violin Concerto in D Minor” was the third-most-performed piece of classical music in the world! Ahead of anything by Mozart! Sheesh.
