“Dog Day Afternoon” Going To Broadway?
That’s an open question. What we do know is that Stephen Adly Guirgis — a terrific playwright — is adapting the 1975 movie for the stage. I have my doubts about this project, and not just because the two biggest disappointments of the current Broadway season are “Misery” (like “Dog,” an award-winning movie) and “China Doll” (which stars that guy from the “Dog Day Afternoon” movie: Al Pacino).
