Hark! A New Series About The Queen
We now get a peek at “The Crown.” You know, the 10-part Netflix series, to premiere later this year, that cost as much to produce as the worth of the crown jewels. Social media are bowing and scraping but I’m not impressed. In the trailer, Prince Philip struggles to accept the fact that he must bow and scrape to his wife, cuz she da queen. Each season of the show will cover a decade of Her Majesty’s reign. The show is based on the award-winning play “The Audience†by Peter Morgan and reunites Morgan with director Stephen Daldry. It all looks rather ludicrous. Which isn’t to say I won’t be watching. If for nothing else to see Eileen Atkins as Queen Mary.
