Your Weekend: A Selective Guide
Movies: Those Chilean miners are celebrated in “The 33.” Brad and Angie’s new arthouse flick, “By the Sea,” looks dreadful. Television: “Act One,” a Lincoln Center Theater production with which I had an association, is broadcast Friday on PBS. Time for you to catch up to “Quantico.” Music: Adele says Chris Stapleton’s voice is “like caramel” — have a taste on “Traveller.” Books: Thomas Vinciguerra’s “Cast of Characters” is a lovely, entertaining addition to the shelf of New Yorker magazine chronicles. I’ve enjoyed Jon Meacham’s previous books, but I think I can pass up his new one on the Bushes. Sports: Now that the Jets and Giants are showing their mediocre talents, I may have to switch my New York winter allegiance to hockey: the Rangers have won 7 in a row. Finally: Is it Thanksgiving yet?
