Elvis Meets Teddy Roosevelt
I’m ashamed to say I’ve never seen anything by the American experimental theatre group the TEAM, although I’m a big fan of other work directed by TEAM member Rachel Chavkin. After reading about the troupe’s “RoosevElvis” — the king of rock’n’roll and the 26th president of the United States take a buddy-comedy road trip — perhaps I should remedy the lapse. Elvis had a Roosevelt quotation – his hackneyed “man in the arena†speech – hung on the walls of Graceland. Oh, and did I mention that Elvis and Teddy are played by women? You probably know that Elvis met Nixon.
