Aretha Sings For The Pope
Thank God that’s over. The Pope is gone, but not before Miss Aretha sang “Amazing Grace.” Pope Francis on Saturday night dropped by the Festival of Families (don’t get me started) in Philadelphia. Mark Wahlberg (yep, really) emceed the proceedings for the event — a worldwide Catholic gathering that focuses on community and this year included an extra star-studded lineup of musical performances — and took the opportunity to indulge in the sacrament of Reconciliation. For what did he want to atone? The “Ted” movies of course. Wahlberg told the pontiff he hoped God has a sense of humor. Possibility for penance: bringing back Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch for their own “Kyrie Eleison”?
