Stella Art Trois: The Third Retrospective
It’s no surprise the abstract artist Frank Stella has a lot on his desk in this interview. His forthcoming retrospective — his third in New York — opens at the Whitney on October 30th, a show spanning his career from the mid-1950s to the present. Roughly 60 works have been selected from 3,000. Stella says: “If you get into art to make money, you’re deluded.” Pictured is Stella’s “Grajau 1.”
