Early Oscar Predictions
Gold Derby is fresh out of the gate, although making predictions before the major contenders have been seen at the September film festivals is reckless. All things being equal (which they never are), Leonardo DiCaprio (“The Revenant”) and Carey Mulligan (“Suffragette”), who costarred in “The Great Gatsby,” would seem to have the inside track for Best Actor and Best Actress. I do not believe that an Iñárritu movie — he directed “Birdman” and “Revenant” — will win Best Picture two years in a row.
