Your Weekend: A Selective Guide
Movies: Jesse Eisenberg — the most annoying young actor in America, and, yes, even in that David Foster Wallace movie — has his second new release this month: “American Ultra.” Everybody I trust says that Lily Tomlin is wonderful in “Grandma.” Television: On Friday, PBS brings up Fred Wiseman’s fascinating documentary “National Gallery.” On Sunday, there’s a new season of Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi in “Vicious,” an offensive, unfunny “comedy.” Music: Who’d a thunk that Benedictine monks doing Gregorian chant could be a best seller? But they are: “Benedicta.” Books: Majesty magazine’s Ingrid Seward (some of the royals call her “Ingrid Sewage”) has a new book, “The Queen’s Speech.” Sports: This Sunday, Philadelphia and Jacksonville meet for arena football’s American Conference Championship. But I’ll probably be watching the Yankees or Mets. Finally: If you’re sick of Trump, then stop watching the networks that talk about him all the time!
