“Camp” Sequel: Why I Will Watch It

“Camp,” the 2003 indie film musical that was born out of real-life experiences at the famed theatre camp Stagedoor Manor, is heading back to the big screen, writer-director Todd Graff told Playbill.com in an interview. Production on the sequel (titled “Camp 2: Freaks In Nature”), which Graff describes as “completely meta,” will begin next year. Graff did tease that he has initial agreements from Tony Award winners Patti LuPone and Donna Murphy (pictured) to appear in a “hilarious and ridiculously dark” “Dreamgirls” sequence that will be choreographed by Tony winner Jerry Mitchell. I’m there!
