Ennio Morricone (pictured), whose stirring film scores have included “The Mission,” “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly,” and (my favorite) “1900” (listen here) is about to embark on a world tour. He says today’s film-makers sell their movies short by using electronic instruments or amateur musicians. ““There are some directors who actually fear the possible success of music. They fear that the audience or the critics will think the film has worked because there was a very good music score.”
