Your Weekend: A Selective Guide
Movies: I doubt the summer will bring a more viscerally entertaining blockbuster than “Mad Max: Fury Road.” Trust me, “Pitch Perfect 2” is not as good as the original. Television: Can it be? Is “Mad Men,” which has been around since the Pleistocene, really going to end on Sunday? Will I finally spared the hype-ridden twaddle that has attended this show since its debut? Music: What a great grizz fest: “Django and Jimmie” is the new album by Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard. Books: My fellow Yanktonian Tom Brokaw has a new memoir, “A Lucky Life Interrupted,” about surviving cancer. Sports: I’m thrilled the Rangers are still in the NHL playoffs. Finally: The Farmer’s Almanac forecasts a very hot July. Can’t wait.
