Elton Speaks About “Billy Elliot” Movie
The musical celebrated its 10th anniversary this week in London, where it’s still running. (The Broadway run was too short.) Elton John is still hoping there will be a film version, but nothing is secure yet. “Billy Elliot” tells the story of an 11-year-old boy who follows his dream to become a ballet dancer against the expectations of his working-class family during Britain’s bitter 1980s miners’ strike. Many of the boys (pictured) who’ve done the title role turned up for the anniversary.
