Joni Mitchell is not unconscious, contrary to previous reports. On Tuesday, TMZ reported Mitchell was unconscious and in a coma. Both TMZ and the Associated Press reported Mitchell’s longtime friend, Leslie Morris, sought to be named Mitchell’s conservator in a court filing on Tuesday.”Contrary to rumors circulating on the Internet today, Joni is not in a coma,” reads a statement on JoniMitchell.com. “Joni is still in the hospital — but she comprehends, she’s alert, and she has her full senses. A full recovery is expected.” Full recovery? Not as long as she keeps smoking — she’s been defiant her whole life about that nasty habit.
