Most Beautiful Woman: Usual Joke
Sandra Bullock has been named People’s 2015 “World’s Most Beautiful Woman,” gracing the cover of this year’s “Most Beautiful” People issue. Bullock is the second Oscar-winning actress in a row to score the cover of the annual issue, with Lupita Nyong’o named 2014’s “Most Beautiful Woman.” The title of the issue is a joke: do you think the editors of People ever consider women who aren’t products of Hollywood to be the world‘s most beautiful woman? It’s the same kind of chauvinism that calls the American baseball classic the World Series even though it’s there is a proper world championship and the World Series is merely the American professional prize.
