Julie Wilson Dies At 90
So sad to hear of the death of singer/actor Julie Wilson at the age of 90. Her Broadway career began with “Three to Make Ready,” in 1946. Later she joined the casts of classic musicals like “Kismet” and “The Pajama Game.” Her last Broadway appearance was as a cabaret singer in “Legs Diamond” (1988); she earned a Tony nomination for that performance. Miss Wilson retired to Omaha in the 1970s to raise her two sons. She returned to New York in 1983, forging a career as a cabaret entertainer. She was a tireless encourager of young talent, and was known for both the elegance of her onstage, gardenia-in-her-hair manner and her sneakers-wearing, down-to-earth friendliness offstage.
