Cooper To Direct “A Star Is Born”
Nothing like starting big: Bradley Cooper will direct the latest remake of “A Star Is Born.” I’ve never much liked the 1937 original, starring Janet Gayner and Fredric March. The 1954 version, with Judy Garland and James Mason, features some of the greatest musical numbers in film history; “The Man That Got Away” knocks me out every time I watch it. I have my doubts about another remake, no matter who stars: it was Beyonce the last time the project was rumored, with Clint Eastwood directing. Yikes.
