Vidal Vs. Buckley: The Documentary
Another great event of my childhood (I seem to be fixated on 1968 today): the televised debates between William F. Buckley and Gore Vidal. They are the subject of a new documentary from Robert Gordon and Morgan Neville:”Best Of Enemies.” The film has been playing the festival circuit. Here’s a review from its showing this week in Austin: The movie ‘details the rhetorical blood sport that captured the essence of the divide of the American public while setting the course for the future deterioration of our televised media.’
