Maybe This Time: Liza Back In Rehab
Except for Elizabeth Taylor, who was the matron of honor at her wedding to David Gest, no star in our time is a bigger survivor than Liza Minnelli. So I’m pretty sure she’ll get through her latest challenge: Liza has checked herself into rehab. In September, the entertainer underwent back surgery to help heal an injury that prevented her from performing most of the year or attending the funeral of Joan Rivers in New York. The 69-year-old Liza, who has dealt with alcohol and drug addictions, is one of the few artists to win an Oscar, a Tony, an Emmy and a Grammy, though the pedant in me must point out that Liza’s Grammy isn’t in a competitive performance category. Still, she’s royalty.
