Has Baz Found His Next Star?
Baz Luhrmann (left) may have found his next acting disciple. Page Six hears the director is in New York casting for his Netflix series, “The Get Down,†about a group of teens in the South Bronx at the dawn of hip-hop music. Spies say he met and hit it off with Shameik Moore (right), star of one of Sundance’s hottest movies, “Dope.â€Sources added the actor, 19, looks likely to land a starring role. “Dope†also stars Zoë Kravitz and rapper ASAP Rocky and follows a group of LA teens with Ivy League aspirations who get mixed up with a local drug dealer.
