Maggie Smith As Lady In Van
So nice to see Maggie Smith getting out of her Dowager‘s weeds and into something stinky. Namely, the clothing of the semi-homeless woman who lived for 15 years in a van in Alan Bennett‘s driveway. The trailer makes the movie, aiming for November release, appear more sugary than was Bennett’s matchless text of the woman’s life. My old pal Alex Jennings, who has become Bennett’s representative on earth, costars with Miss Mags.
