“Hoffmann” Movie Is Restored
Over the past decade, Thelma Schoonmaker, Martin Scorsese’s editor and Michael Powell’s widow, has overseen the restoration of many of her husband’s classic films. The latest is Powell and Pressburger’s vibrant 1951 adaptation of Offenbach‘s opera “Tales of Hoffmann.”
