Count me among them. A trip to Times Square a few years back, with a young, eager squeeze in tow, cured me forever of the desire not just to celebrate in packed places but to celebrate anywhere but at home. Apparently, there are millions of us who feel that New Year’s Eve is strictly for amateurs and do not deign to be among them.
