Kennedy Center Honors: Did You Watch?

I have to confess that I wasn’t especially eager to watch the CBS broadcast of the Kennedy Center Honors, celebrating Al Green, Patricia McBride, Tom Hanks, Lily Tomlin, and Sting. But I ended up watching most of the two-hour show. Highlights: Jennifer Hudson singing Al, Tiler Peck of the NYC Ballet in the McBride tribute, the little blond tap dancer in the “Yankee Doodle Dandy” extravaganza dedicated to Hanks, Reba McIntire’s facelift in the Tomlin segment, and the cast of “Last Ship” showing up at the end of the Sting tribute, briefly upstaging the pop-culture royalty (Streep, Springsteen) who had appeared to salute him.
